Qi3 Accelerator is pleased to announce that it has joined the UK Business Angels’ Association (UKBAA). UKBAA is the national trade association representing angel and early stage investment in the UK.
The UKBAA has recently extended its remit from being the trade association for Business Angel Networks to representing the Business Angel community as a whole.
“As an independent syndicate of investors we are happy to support the UKBAA” said Nathan Hill, co-founder of Qi3 Accelerator. “Qi3 Accelerator enjoys supporting the development of a more active early stage investment community”. Prior to joining UKBAA, Qi3 Accelerator core team members have made over 20 investments as individuals and led five deals as a team in the past year, in which over £5.4m has been invested in early stage companies. The team has developed a wide profile for its emphasis on “real world” investment in engineering and manufacturing, its strong evaluation methodology and its open form of syndication.
Qi3 Accelerator won this year UKBAA “Early Stage Team of the Year 2012” award. In addition, Nathan Hill participates in the number 10 Angel Expert Panel, and supports UKBAA in its lobbying on issues relating to EIS/SEIS investment, co-investment funds and manufacturing/engineering businesses.
Jenny Tooth, CEO of UK Business Angels Association said: “As the trade body, we are seeking to reflect all the key developments in the angel market in the UK, and notably the important trends of syndication and acceleration. We are delighted therefore to have Qi3 Accelerator as part of our membership, bringing together their investment and industry expertise. We welcome more angel syndicates to join the Association.”
