Expressions of Interest: Deployment of COTS-based instruments in hostile environments

Our Industry Advisory Board has recently approved three Action Group projects. These allow for research and technology roadmapping in focus areas, with a group of industrial and academic partners working together to identify barriers to innovation that may be supported by future SiKTN actions.

Organisations wishing to contribute to this initiative should be prepared to commit at least 2-3 days to the identification of technical issues and potential actions. The use of COTS-based instrumentation in general and in hostile environments such as defence, aerospace, space and automotive applications is limited more by packaging and deployment issues than the availability of sensor technologies. This Action Group will investigate limitations to deployment and determine joint actions that may be undertaken with support of the SiKTN. To participate in this Action Group, please email Nigel Day nigel.day@qi3.co.uk or call 01223 422406.
