Following the success of the Emerging Technology Briefing on Nano and Opto technologies, the Institute of Physics will be holding its next event in the Emerging Technology Programme on Biotechnology.
The event will be held in London on Tuesday 19th April 2005. The Royal Society of Chemistry, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (PPARC) are all pleased to be supporting this event.
This event will focus on:
· The insight into the cutting edge research of bio technologies and its applications in the commercial world, with successful partnership and collaboration between academia and industry for new product development
· The importance and awareness of industrial perspective to the subject and tips on profitable ongoing commercialisation and use of nanomaterials in industry
· The commercial view to try and find out what are the limiting issues to commercialising any academic ideas and cultures we need to understand for business
It will provide an ideal opportunity for networking and discussion between successful entrepreneurial academics, small and large companies, and consultants. It will also encourage and create partnership between similar minded universities and industries sharing common interests and goals.
