Our broad knowledge of the Defence, Aerospace, Security and Space sectors give us the ability to make a real difference quickly for our clients seeking to penetrate or develop this important and highly international market. The procurement processes and timescales, the size and complexity of some of the contracts involved and the need for partnership and often ‘offset’ arrangements make this a challenging area in which to operate.
Our experienced support enables our clients to achieve effective commercialisation strategies in the shortest possible time. Specific technologies have included: autonomous systems and robotics, miniaturised instruments for forensic and security applications.
We have supported our clients in offering systems software, originally developed for defence applications, for medical industrial application. And we’ve successfully found commercial application for space data products.
We provided bid management support for a major international defence contractor.
Our team has experience of working for some of the leading corporations operating in this and related sectors including: Racal, Smiths, L3, Lockheed Martin, Marconi as well as the Ministry of Defence. They also have experience in setting up collaborative arrangements and partnerships both nationally and internationally.
Our knowledge and contacts are kept constantly up to date through our work with the Sensors & Instrumentation KTN. We organise many events to focus on opportunities from large public investment in space, aerospace etc., and provide networks in which the leading researchers and the key industrial companies can communicate and often collaborate on cutting edge development programmes. We also work closely with national organizations such as the Home Office Scientific Development Branch, Forensic Science Service etc. to help identify user needs or new technology opportunities.
